What are Google Team Drives?
Google Team Drives are shared spaces where School’s can easily store, search, and access their files anywhere, from any device.
Unlike files in My Drive, files in Team Drive belong to the Organisation instead of an individual. Even if members leave/transfer schools, the files stay exactly where they are so your team can continue to share information and get work done.
Best Practice
- Name Logically as this will enable your team to be able access content with ease.
- Team Drive’s could be named identically the only way to recognise this is to change the theme or go into the Team Drive.
- If a user or group is given permission to the Team drive they get access to all files/folders in the team drive

What is Google Drive File Stream?
Is a new way to access all of your Google Drive files directly from your Mac or PC, without using up all your disk space. Unlike traditional file sync tools, Drive File Stream doesn’t require you to download your files first in order to access them from your computer. Instead, when you need to view or edit a file, it automatically streams from the cloud, on-demand.
